Ongoing through July 31st -- 12th Annual Model and Drawing Exhibit

Drawings and models are representations of the built environment, but they can also be seen as complete works in themselves, works that interact with our imagination in ways that perhaps no real building can?  See more.

Ongoing through August 14th -- RAUMGREIFEND 

An exhibit of the work of Andreas Bee.  "Bee's wood and paper construction establishes a fragile, transparent floating "interruption," physically impacting the gallery visitors' presence as well as their means of access to the space."  See more.

Ongoing -- Blueprints: 100 Years of Seattle Architecture

Blueprints is a permanent exhibit illustrating the impact of architecture on the Northwest, and its relation to growth and change in the Seattle area.  Featuring an impressive collection of historical and contemporary photographs, drawings and artist renderings, original art, models, and building remnants.  See more.

July

July 18th -- SolarFest

Solar fest is the Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair in Shoreline.  Exhibits, vendors, speakers, live music, Kid Zone, Film Festival, Transportation Zone, and the Taste of Shoreline hosted by the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce.  See more.

July 18th -- Modern Skyscrapers: What's New? 

Post-Modernism, security, green building trends and roller-coaster real estate prices have dramatically impacted where we live, work and play. This guided tour of downtown explores these concepts as it teaches you about the biggest buildings in Seattle.  See more.

July 21st -- Emerging Green Builders Gathering

Come out to the monthly meeting of the Emerging Green Builders group, a program from the Cascadia Green Building Council.  This informal gathering is a chance for leading green building firms from Seattle to present their work in their own offices to the next generation of ecological designers.  See more.

July 22nd -- Summer Design Block Party

Come join Modern Shed, 3form Light Art, Grand Image, and Urban Hardwoods for their first ever summer design block party.  See more.

July 22nd -- Holistic Sitewater Management

The Northwest Ecobuilding Guild is sponsoring an education event on sitewater management.  The event features Michael Laurie, of Watershed LLC, a water conservation consulting and design firm, discussing outdoor irrigation system efficiency, as well as indoor use practices.  See more.

July 23rd -- Cascadia Board of Directors/Branch Reception

Cascadia Region Green Building Council invites you to an evening of mixing and mingling with Cascadia's Board of Directors, Staff and local Branch Members.  Drinks and appetizers provided!  See more

July 25th --  South Lake Union: Extreme Makeover

A two hour walking tour of South Lake Union, presented by the Seattle Architecture Foundation.  "Witness the profound effect that money, green construction, adaptive re-use and streetcars can bring to a community."  See more.

July 29th -- Keeping Chickens in the City

This free class, organized by Seattle FreeSchool, will teach you how to raise and keep chickens in an urban environment, including information on starting with chicks.  See more.

July 30th --  Smart Grid 101: The Future is Now

This course, offered through the Northwest Environmental Training Center, provides a comprehensive introduction to smart grid technology including deployment and applications.  See more.

August

August 29th -- Family Tour: Eye Spy Seattle

Get your passport stamped and keep watch out for unique building details. This interactive, kid-focused downtown experience is best suited for children ages 5-10. See more.

September 12 -- Solar Works! In Seattle: Solar Hot Water 101

Solar Hot Water systems can reduce your energy bills by using the sun to preheat your domestic hot water.  This workshop will include an overview of system theory and design, as well as a discussion of component selection and sizing.  See more.

September 17th -- The Architectural Challenge of 2030

Part III of the Reneneration Speaker Series, featuring a discussion between Amanda Sturgeon, a Senior Associate and the co-director of the sustainable design initiative nationally for Perkins+Will, and Kevin R. Hydes, President and CEO of Integral Performance Engineering.  See more.
