September 12 Solar Works! In Seattle: Solar Hot Water 101 Solar Hot Water systems can reduce your energy bills by using the sun to preheat your domestic hot water. This workshop will include an overview of system theory and design, as well as a discussion of component selection and sizing. This workshop will walk you through the basics of determining if you have a good site, understanding a system's potential in our climate, finding a solar contractor, comparing bids and understanding incentives, the installation process, and maintenance and operation of your system. This free class, presented by Northwest Sustainable Energy for Economic Development (SEED) and Seattle City Light is targeted at residential customers with little or no solar background. This presentation is being held at the Rainier Community Center, located at 4600 38th Ave S, in Seattle. It's a three hour event, from 10am - 1pm. Registration begins August 1st.
